Cherries help lower blood sugar levels and the risk of heart disease, while also maintaining health joint function.

100 g strawberries
100 g red grapes
75 g red cherries

Stone the cherries, and cut the grapes and strawberries in half. Place them all in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

Melon Blast

Cantaloupe melons are valued for their anti-oxidant and low-sodium properties. The melon cools you down, while the ginger stimulates blood circulation and helps the body get rid of toxins. Pears for their part are a good source of fibre, anti-oxidants and vitamin C, helping lower cholesterol and fighting free radicals.

½ cantaloupe melon
1 pear
1 tsp finely chopped ginger
a few mint leaves

Place all the ingredients in a blender and mix until well blended. Pour into a glass and garnish with mint leaves.

Not only do carrots improve vision, they also slow down ageing and promote healthier skin. Mangoes and carrots are both rich in vitamins A, C and E, and are a great source of fibre.  Oranges are high in vitamin C and antioxidants that help lower stress levels and cholesterol.

4 medium cooked carrots
½ mango
1 orange

Put all the ingredients in a blender. Blend at low speed for a few seconds and then increase to a high speed till the drink is smooth.

Kiwi and Apple Juice

Kiwis have twice as much vitamin C as oranges and are also rich in potassium, a lack of which can lead to high blood pressure. They’re good for you immunity and skin. The fibre and pectin in apples help lower cholesterol and keep you feeling full for longer, while an antioxidant found in the skin helps in better lung function. And mint cools your body and boosts digestion.

2 kiwi fruits
1 apple/small glass of apple juice
handful of mint leaves

Pop all the fruit and mint leaves in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and garnish with mint leaves.

Tomato, Apple and Celery Juice

Thanks to their high vitamin and nutrient content, tomatoes are great immunity and energy-boosters. The apple adds a touch of sweetness, while also aiding the digestive system with its high fibre content and keeping blood sugar levels in check. Celery has magnesium, which soothes nerves, and has anti-inflammatory properties that improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

100 ml tomato juice
1 small tomato
1 apple
2 large celery sticks

Put all the ingredients in a blender. Start at a low speed and increase till the drink is smooth.
